What I am up to

I write a lot these days. Though a little late to the game, I'm making up for lost time. Some of my short fiction was recently published in two anthologies and I have a completed novel with another in the works. Editors I’ve worked with agree most of my work is best described as upmarket—some with speculative threads, some with light touches of magical realism.

Why I write

Reality springs from all the overlapping points of view, so I write to see through many eyes. I hope to snag people walking a line between truths, and to reach people deeply embedded in one view or another, averting their minds in fear of facing another perspective. I see my work speaking to these readers. And I see myself in conversation with authors whose works speak to me — in their speculation on science, technology, politics, love and power in the sandbox of human behavior. I will always play here — trying to light up the magic already in the world, or just beyond it.
